5 ways to open your mind to more possibilities.
1. Create a morning mantra.
Most of us can admit to grabbing for our phones as soon as our eyes open in the morning. The constant connection we have to an unlimited source of information overload can easily trigger stress and anxiety. One of the most impactful things I have implemented in to my own life is creating a morning mantra. As soon as my eyes open and before I reach for my phone, I think of a word that describes how I want my day to look. Then I say it out loud. Saying it out loud is my contract with the universe that no matter what happens in my day, I will return to my morning mantra. It doesn’t need to be a complicated or elaborate mantra and to be honest, sometimes less is best. You will be amazed at the possibilities that unfold for you when you team up with the universe and take on the day.
2. Practice visualization.
Have you ever heard a child go on and on about a shoe that turned in to a spaceship that ate raisins and then, and then and then. Cause I have! And I’m sure at one point during their conversation with you that you thought “I wish I had an imagination like that.” Well I am here to tell you that you do. Somewhere under the layers and layers of what we have been told we should be, how we should behave, who we should become and in what timeline is a motion picture of limitless possibilities. One of the most powerful ways to create transformation is to first begin with visualization. Letting your mind soar to the depths of your most authentic self and the capacity your life path has the ability to take on is both powerful and motivating. This practice can increase your confidence and helps get your mind, heart and body aligned to who you are becoming. Visualization is a language that has no boundaries, and implementing its practice in to your life can help you remain committed to your highest vibe unfolding... and being ready to take up that space.
3. Create opportunities to be her.
What is one of the biggest differences people face between who they are at present andwho they wish to become?....the person they wish to become is doing the things thatthey are not. During a healing session I once had before I had decided to pursue my Life Coach Certification, my Practitioner asked me a question that shook me to my core. After I fully explained to her, in vivid detail, another Life Coach who I was creeping on hard because of her zest for life, her commitment to sharing her truth and simply just being down right unapologetic about her life, my Practitioner asked me “and what’s the difference between you and her.” It was in her asking me that question that gave me my “ah-ha” moment. The difference was nothing. There was nothing different between herand me except that she was doing it and I was not. It was in that awakening moment for me that I chose to start doing. Start getting uncomfortable with being uncomfortable. Start taking up space and telling people who I was and what I had to offer. It is amazing who you attract in to your life when you do the things that scare the crap out of you and without fear of shame or judgement. So post that photo. Take yourself on a date. Join that class. Say yes to that invitation you’ve been avoiding. Little by little start modelling the life you wish to have and the person you wish to become and watch just how quickly the realm of infinite possibilities comes your way.
4. Protect your peace.
It is okay to say no | It is okay for people to be upset with you for saying no.
It is okay to say what’s on your mind | It is okay if people don’t like it.
It is okay to put yourself first | It is okay if people think you are selfish for doing so.
It is okay to have boundaries | It is okay for people to be offended.
It is okay to expect accountability from others | It is okay if they are not ready to accept.
“You become a master of your life when you learn how to control where your attention goes. Value what you give your energy to.”
5. Get curious.
A lot of us hold on to old stale patterns, routines, negative self-talk and fear of judgement. Get curious about this. When some of those old thoughts and patterns are arising that are not serving your well-being, you can get curious and ask yourself a fewquestions:
why do I have this thought or belief?
where does this thought or belief come from?
what am I getting from this feeling, belief or behaviour?
is this something I need to stress over?
is this something that is serving me and my alignment with my higher self?
would my authentic self worry, stress, or be bothered by this?
Getting curious helps us acknowledge how we are feeling and helps us to slow down, take a few moments to look inward before deciding how we are going to be affected, or not affected. Often time our own stale systems limit us from reaching our full potential. It limits possibilities and keeps us feeling unfulfilled. So get curious with yourself, and enjoy the journey of the inner work as you explore your most authentic self.
